Physics Nobel for quantum research


The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the 2012 Nobel Prize in Physics to Professor Serge Haroche of France and Professor David Wineland of the U.S. for their "groundbreaking experimental methods that enable measuring and manipulation of individual quantum systems."

The 2012 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded jointly to John B. Gurdon and Shinya Yamanaka "for the discovery that mature cells can be reprogrammed to become pluripotent".
